Organizing Your Perfect Wedding

Friday, June 12th, 2009

If you are planning a wedding then you should know the wedding planning timelines.

It can take up to one year to plan a wedding, depending on when and where it is to be held.

wholesale wedding decorations, yourself wedding decorations
One year before

First, a date must be set for the wedding. If it is to be held in the most popular months, May, June, July or August, a year ahead is not too early to start reserving the church, and lining up the members you wish in the wedding party. Establish the budget. If you are using a florist, start getting estimates of floral arrangements for tables and church. You will also need to decide styles of corsages, boutonnires and whether or not to have a flower girl with rose petals to strew in the bride’s path. Decide on a theme for your wedding.

Six to Nine Months before

Reserve a banquet hall and hire a band. You will need to enter into a legal contract with the band so you will not find yourself without music at the last minute. Make arrangements for your soloist for your wedding ceremony. Locate a photographer and establish numbers of pictures desired. It is time to shop for your wedding dress and bridesmaid’s dresses, and start getting estimates on tuxedo rentals.

Three to Six Months before

Decide on the number of guests to be invited. Contact various printers in your area to get prices and decide on the style of invitations. Order your invitations. Contact the tuxedo rental store to make a commitment to rent from them. Contact the florist you have chosen and make a commitment to purchase from them. Decide on the banquet menu and get estimates from caterers. Make a commitment to the chosen one. If you need to have a bakery provide the cake, it is time to get that ordered also.

Two to Three Months before

Register at your favorite stores. Shop for the wedding accessories you will need, such as wedding guest books, wine glasses for the ceremonial toast, cake knife, gifts for wedding party, wedding favors and table centerpieces. Pick up your invitations from the printer and get them addressed. Check in with your florist, caterer, photographer, church, band, etc. to be sure all is on track. Solve any problems. Try on dresses to see if alternations are needed. Try on tuxedos.

wedding table decorations, wedding reception decoration ideas One Month before

Make arrangements for rehearsal dinner. It is time to mail the wedding invitations. Arrange for wedding rehearsal with church and minister. Attend showers.

One Week before

It is time for the rehearsal. After the rehearsal, enjoy the company of the wedding party at dinner.

One Day before

Gather all dresses, tuxedos, reception decorations, etc. and deliver them to the church or banquet hall. Get hairdos. Tomorrow is the big day.

Unique Wedding Decorations – 8 Alternative Decor Ideas

When it comes to wedding decorations, flowers aren’t your only option. Think outside the proverbial flower box with this list of eight blossom-free unique wedding dcor ideas:

Church Wedding Decorations, Unique Wedding Decorations

So you’re not a froofy floral arrangement kind of bride – that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a wedding dcor scheme that wows. Think outside the proverbial flower box with this list of blossom-free ideas for wedding decorations.

Love Visually
Build a structure consisting of a bunch of different ornate frames with photos of not only you and your fianc, but also parents and grandparents whose marriages serve as inspiration for time-tested love.

The Food Pyramid
Fill cylindrical glass vases with fruits and vegetables reflecting your colors. Oranges, lemons, and limes have been done, so try a unique, more contemporary look with mangos or coconuts – or tie it to the season with texture-rich earthy vegetables like husked corn, acorn squash, or artichokes.

Outside Looking In
Give your guests something to really look at with goldfish swimming in aesthetically shaped vases. Consider building interesting mantels or use other species like Siamese fighting fish or white clouds. For their sake, add the water and fish right before the reception and return them to a bigger tank before the party’s over.

Au Natural
Consult Mother Nature for inspiration, and bring the outdoors in. Natural objects like stones, leaves, pine cones, even twigs can add an organic aesthetic to your reception decor. Place in rustic containers or scatter amongst pillar candles for added ambiance. This idea will nicely complement a fall wedding theme.

A Library Look
Stacks of books intricately piled can work in a number of different ways. For sophisticates, choose antique leather-bounds. For a more fun approach, use kitschy romance novels. Or, tie it to your wedding location – if beach-side, go with maritime classics like Moby Dick and The Old Man and the Sea.

Wine-O
Wine bottles and decanters create interesting focal pieces. Turn a wine bottle into a "lamp" by filling it with candle oil and adding a wick. Decorate the base of the bottle with bunches of grapes.

Lighten Up
Floating candles in a shallow bowl adds light and elegance to your tabletops. Or arrange multi-level candles on a mosaic of mirrors or tiles, and surround them with seashells or flower petals. Placing coffee beans or red hot candies at the bottom of a vase or bowl to hold the candles steady also adds an aromatic effect.

Consult your Inner Child
For the kid at heart, fill decorative bowls with your favorite candies – such as jellybeans and M&M’s – in your wedding colors. These centerpieces are sure to be a hit with your guests!

For even more ideas and advice to plan your wedding day decor, this wedding decorations and flowers guide will walk you through the process.

Theme Based Wedding Decorations

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

You will need to make tons of decisions during your wedding planning. Of all the decisions you are going to make, one of the most important will be the decorations of your reception hall.

weddings reception decorations, yourself wedding decorations You wedding decorations should follow your wedding theme. Otherwise it will become pointless to spend so much effort, as well as money on your decorations. Some couples will hire vendors to do the decorations for them. However, a vendor which does not really provide services of high quality may give you all the ready made items which have been used many times before. As a result, you should have your own decoration idea in mind in order to take your decorations to another level.

You should start your wedding decoration based on your hobbies. The ideas generated should be applied to all the wedding items so that they will become a unity.

There was a real case on wedding theme and wedding decorations. A wedding decoration firm got an order from an couple. The couple did not have any idea about the wedding theme and decorations at the very beginning. After a few meetings with the couples, it is found that the bride is an oil painting lover. This becomes the concept generator of the theme and decorations. They decided to make the reception hall like an art gallery, with oil paintings hanged on the walls. This idea turned to be a very successful job of the company.

In the above case, although it seems that the groom was left out in the decoration design, the groom, as well the parents of the couple, were all satisfied with the decorations. However, if I were the company and the bride can manage to do so, I would further suggest the bride to do all the oil paints herself so that the reception hall becomes a venue of an oil painting exhibition of the bride. The guests will certainly be impressed and amazed by such a wonderful exhibition.

All of us have different hobbies and preferences and the above idea is only an example which cannot be applied to your case directly. You should applied the concwholesale wedding decorations, church wedding decorationsept behind instead. Since the wedding should reflect the couple, it will be always a good idea to plan for your wedding theme and decorations based on your hobbies and preferences. For example, if both of you and your partner love to collect vintage items, you can certainly bring the items you collected to the reception hall and use them to decorate your wedding venue. You wedding reception hall will become an exhibition on vintage items, and this should be a unique and special design for your reception hall. You guests will be amazed when they see a typewriter which is made on the 50s in your wedding.

One final suggestion is that, you should never make up some "hobbies" in order to decorate your wedding venue. You have to bear in mind that it is your wedding. Your wedding should be able to reflect your and your partner. It will be pointless to make up something just for the decorations of the wedding.

Necessities and Supplies for a Successful Wedding

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Planning a wedding can be both exciting and stressful. For a bride-to-be, all the planning can make them anxious and overwhelming due to all the details they have to take care of as well as the wedding supplies. This article will help you take care of the important details first.

wedding table decorations, yourself wedding decorations

Constantly thinking of the wedding supplies you’ll need and how the wedding would turn out could be horrifying. Careful and detailed wedding planning is recommended. Here is a list of the supplies that you have to purchase for the big day to make sure that you don’t miss the necessary stuff.

Wedding Arch
The arch symbolizes your union with your spouse. After the wedding, you will be sharing a new life together, living under one roof. There’s a perfect arch for each wedding theme and specific budget. If you are on a tight budget, don’t force yourself to buy a wedding arch because you can always rent. Decorate the rented arch as you wish.

Candles and Holders
Unity candles can be beautiful dcor for the wedding. There are a wide range of designs and colors to choose from and not only that, you can further personalize it such as having the couple’s name on it as well as the wedding date. The candle holder should also be as elegant and you can also choose from a three piece holder in gold or silver or, you can have an all-in-one that comes in many designs such as butterflies, cherubs or doves.

Silk Flower Decorations
There’s no doubt that silk flowers look real and are cheaper than real flowers. Silk flowers have longer longevity and are easy to arrange and handle. It’s obvious that flowers breathe life to the venue so they will never go missing. If you can’t afford to get an abundant supply of the expensive, real flowers…this option is the best for you.

Wedding Aisle Runner
The aisle runner is a symbolic representation of the new path that you are about to take with your partner. An advice is not to go for plastic aisle runner, instead, have vinyl or rayon aisle runners because they are tear resistant and heavy duty. You can choose plain white or the ones with floral prints or weave patterns. You can even have it personalized by having your names or a short message printed on it using your favorite font and colors.

Wedding Favors
Of the so many wedding favor choices you can find in the market, deciding what wedding favors to give away can become difficult. You want your wedding to be remembered. You want to leave a mark in the minds of your guests. You want to give something that has practical use. Look for the best wedding favor to match your wedding theme. If you have the luxury of time and talent in making crafts, do them yourself (or you can even ask some friends who share the interest to help you). Save money and give your favors your personal touch.

Wedding Cake Topper
The wedding cake is one of the major attractions at the wedding reception. Therefore, both the cake and the cake topper should be strikingly beautiful. Choose the cake topper that best emphasizes the wedding theme or best speaks of what’s common with you and your partner. You don’t have to stick to the traditional heart and dove or boy and girl kissing porcelain figurines. Why not have the novel ones? Have at look at some funny wedding cake toppers and think about the smiles it will create on your guests’ faces. "Runway Bride" and "The Tiff" figurines are two of the common funny toppers.

Bridal Accessories
The bride is always worried about not looking her best during the important day. Looking elegant and beautiful can be achieve by wearing the beautiful wedding dress and having your make-up done simple yet elegant. To further enhance your look, you will need the help of bridal accessories. These are the simple jewelry piece that compliments your wedding outfit and stylish hair accessories. A pearl-studded hair clip will hold your hair nicely and makes you look more elegant. If you prefer to have a your hair fall nicely behind your back, you should have a tiara that can instantly turn you into a fairytale princess.

Sometimes, relying on your memory alone is not an effective way to remember a lot of things. In the course of wedding planning, new details pop up and old ideas tend to be forgotten. Have a list, write things down-the wedding supplies you need to acquire and the things you need to accomplish. If you do that, having a sublime wedding is not an impossibility.

Planning Your Perfect Wedding

Steps To Your Perfect Wedding

Step 1: Budget. When planning your budget you will need to decide which of these items you want to include in your wedding and how much money to spend on each.

Step 2: Size. The size of your guest list will depend on personal preference and budget. Some brides dream of a huge wedding with 300 guests, while others prefer an intimate ceremony with only close friends and family. We settled on 100 guests–large enough to invite who we really wanted to come and small enough that it still felt personal.

Step 3: Planning and Scheduling. Planning and follow-up are the most important factors in getting the wedding you want. That beautiful atrium in the park is probably booked years in advance as are many beautiful, old churches. Even if you are planning to get married in your own church and use its reception hall, you’ll need to find out about fees and availability. Research reception locations by looking in local bridal magazines, newspaper bridal sections and online. If a friend or family member has a beautiful back yard, you may want to have your wedding there. It would make an excellent wedding present. Choosing the locations of your ceremony and reception should be the first thing you do after settling on a budget. You can not plan or schedule anything until you know when and where everything will happen.

Step 4: Food and Alcohol. The food you give your guests does not have to be expensive. They are there to witness your marriage and celebrate with you. If you serve Chicken Francaise instead of Filet Mignon they will not enjoy themselves less. For drinks, you have many options. You may decide not to serve alcohol. Or, you may serve one or two special drinks-you can even name one after yourself and your groom. You may also decide to offer an open bar. Remember that alcohol can eat up a large portion of your budget. Talk to the caterer about your options.

Step 5: Wedding Party. The size of your wedding party should match the size of your wedding. If you have 300 guests, 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen will fit right in. But, if you have 80 guests in a small church, it may look comical trying to fit those 20 attendants on the small church alter.

Step 6: Music. If you are having a church wedding, ask the priest or pastor if he can recommend someone to play the ceremony music. Or, you may know someone who could play at your wedding as a wedding gift. For your reception, should you choose a band or a DJ? Having a live band at your reception can be special, but expensive. We chose to have a DJ, not just for the savings but because he could play any song and it would sound great. Whatever you choose, go over what is required. Are there any songs you DO NOT want played? Do you want the DJ or musician to introduce the wedding party, start off the first dance, and announce when it is time to cut the cake? Often this is included, if not-speak to whoever is in charge of your reception location and find out if they offer this service.

Step 7: Traditions. Some couples disregard traditions. Other couples want to include them or even start their own. The biggest tradition is probably the bride carrying "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." But, there are many other traditions you can incorporate. If you don’t wear your mother’s wedding dress, you may want to pin a piece of its lace onto your slip or tie it around your bouquet. You can wrap a family locket around your bouquet with pictures of you and your groom. I attached my mother’s antique brooch, which had been handed down from my grandmother, to a chain and wore it as a necklace. It made me feel as if they were with me on my wedding day and it meant a lot.

Step 8: Invitations. Invitations are another item that can be surprisingly expensive. They don’t have to be. I knew exactly what type of invitation I wanted, but at a stationer, it would have cost $800 to $1000. I did a lot of searching online and was able to order two less expensive sets of invitations, put them together how I wanted and ended up spending less than $400. Places like Staples and Michael’s also have nice invitations that you can print yourself at home for less than $100.

Step 9: Photographer. This is where we spent a bigger portion of our budget (Only the reception location, with food included, cost more). Even if our wedding was the best wedding in the world, it would only last for a few hours. With good pictures, we could relive it over and over. When you look for a photographer, ask questions. Who will be the photographer? What if he is sick? If you hire a company that has several photographers you may be shown sample wedding photographs from the best photographer. You sign up. Then on your wedding day "your" photographer can’t make it and someone else shows up-someone probably much less talented. Also, ask if the photographer will shoot in color, black and white, or both. Will he shoot traditional shots, photojournalism, or both? Will you be able to keep the proofs? Can you buy the negatives? How much time will the photographer spend at your wedding? Will he also take photos of the bride and groom preparing for the wedding?

Wedding Table Decorations, wedding ceremony decorations
Step 10: Dress. Some brides feel they need to spend a lot of money on "the dress." My husband thought my dress would be the biggest expense, but it was one of the smallest. The dress I fell in love with happened to be on sale because it was discontinued. It was just my size! I didn’t even need alterations. How often does that happen?! Even if you are not that lucky, there are thousands of beautiful wedding dresses between $150 and $850. Check out the large bridal stores as well as your local bridal shops. If you like tradition, you can wear your mother’s wedding dress and have it altered to fit your style. You want to love your wedding dress, but remember-you will only wear it one time for about 8 hours.

Step 11: Flowers. Choose flowers that match your wedding colors. Your local florist can make suggestions and tell which flowers will be in season (they will be less expensive). The flower arrangements were one thing I should have followed-up on with a second meeting. I told the florist exactly what I wanted for my bridal bouquet-deep red roses, no greenery, long matching ribbons (which I provided), and how I wanted the roses gathered. I even gave her a picture. We also discussed the attendants’ bouquets and flowers for the reception tables. The day of the wedding, the attendants’ flowers were more beautiful than I imagined and the table flowers were gorgeous. My bridal bouquet was almost nothing like what I had asked for. I had red roses, but also plenty of greenery, no ribbons, and an ugly plastic piece that held the flowers. The wedding was in an hour and there was nothing I could do. I tried to put it out of my mind and concentrated on everything else that was wonderful about that day. Remember-follow up is one of the most important factors in getting the wedding you want.

Step 12: Hair & Makeup. Many brides go to a salon and have their hair and makeup done. If you do, have a trial run so you know you will be happy with the results on your wedding day. Going to a salon is not a necessity. You may decide to do your own hair and makeup or have a friend do it. You can schedule practice sessions and try several hairstyles to get it perfect.

Step 13: Cake. Many reception halls provide the wedding cake. Mine did. However, I was not happy with my choices. They agreed to make the red velvet cake I requested, but not the decoration I wanted. I had seen exactly what I wanted in a wedding magazine so I called the bakery listed in the back. The baker was able to make the decoration (without the cake) and ship it to my reception hall. The nice people at the hall, accepted the shipment and put the decoration on the cake. It was perfect! If you plan to do something like this, make sure everyone involved is willing to do their part. Then follow through and make sure the shipment is sent, that it arrives, and that the cake maker knows how to arrange the decorations (give her a picture).

outdoor wedding decorations, wedding decoration ideas
Step 14: Favors. These little mementos are small tokens of appreciation to your guests for sharing in your special day. There are many options to choose from. You can give something that matches the theme of your wedding, such as starfish wine stoppers if you are having a beach wedding. Or, you can give something that symbolizes the love you share with your new husband such as a scented candle with the monogram you share as a couple. You can give something edible such as the traditional chocolate covered almonds, or you can make your own favors. Just try to give something your guests will appreciate and use. A wine glass with your and your groom’s name and wedding date may be pretty, but not very practical to a guest.

Step 15: Relax! You’ve done the research. You’ve done the planning. You’ve done the shopping and creating. And, you’ve done the follow-up. It’s now time to relax and enjoy the day. Don’t worry about the little things that go wrong-because something will go wrong (remember my wedding bouquet?). The important thing is that at the end of the day-after the ceremony that is witnessed by your friends and family, after the dancing and laughing and partying-you will be married. You and your groom are starting your new life together. That’s the most important thing.

Outdoor Wedding Decorating Ideas

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Spring is a great time for new beginnings, especially for starting a new life with someone special. What better way to celebrate than to incorporate a spring theme into your wedding decorating! A few simple touches are all it takes to have a big impact. After a dull winter, your guests will appreciate a bright and happy occasion.

gazebo wedding decorations, outdoor wedding decorations Popular colors for a sping wedding are pastels, so keep this in mind when shopping for your bridal party and for your decorations. If you want a darker color for your bridesmaid dresses, try using the same color in a lighter shade for the wedding flowers and centerpieces. The contrast will add freshness to your big day while making everything look smart and well coordinated. Try not to use too many different pastel colors together unless you’re planning an Easter wedding. Some great color choices are: pink or rose, light blue, yellow, lavender, and a soft green. Some good color combinations include rose and lavender, lavender and light blue, or yellow and soft green. Using colors that are close to each other on the color scale will give a softer look to your day, while using opposites will create bolder combinations.

Other than color, some easy ways to add spring to your wedding are:

– Use potted bulbs in your decorations. They can be used to decorate your ceremony, as centerpieces at your reception, and on the gift and cake tables. Just make sure to choose bulbs whose flowers aren’t heavily scented in case any of your guests have allergies. A lot of scent in a closed in room can have people looking for fresh air very quickly. Daffodils and tulips are great choices and are available in a variety of colors. You don’t need to have the same flower at every table, and using a variety can make your decorating more interesting for your guests.

– Other seasonal flowers that can be used as cut flowers are lilacs, pansies, and freesias, but again be careful with heavy scents. Lilacs smell beautiful, but some are more scented than others.

– Spring is the time when many people start thinking about planting their gardens. Consider giving away flower or tree seeds in decorative seed packets as a wedding favor. The seeds can be for your favorite plant, or for one that has significance to your family. If I were planning a spring wedding, I would give away apricot tree seeds as a subtle reminder of my grandmother and the apricot tree on her farm that used to always be in bloom for her birthday in May.

– Small trees can also be used as centerpieces or used as favors. Choose ones that are about a foot high so they don’t block out everything at your wedding. If using them as centerpieces, plant them in decorative pots and include some planting instructions. For favors, they can be placed on a side table so they aren’t in the way during dinner. An announcement can be made after the speeches that they are for the guests to take home. Tie a note of thanks around their base with some raffia as an added touch.

Using color and seasonal flowers you can give your wedding a spring-time feeling without going to a lot of extra time or expense. Think spring and have fun decorating for your wedding!

Wedding is an occasion to celebrate and enjoy. You could personalize your wedding by making your own wedding decorations. You could make your own wedding floral arrangements and bouquets too. Your creativity and imagination in creating wonderful wedding decorations would enhance a personalized wedding. Instead of purchasing the streamers and other wedding decorations from a departmental store, it would be a good idea to make your own wedding decorations.

How to Make Your Own Wedding Decorations? – A Few Suggestions

Many of the decorations you would have come across in the marriages are made by the professionals. However, you could make your wedding a memorable experience by making your own wedding decorations.

  • Look Out for Good Ideas

You get ideas by flipping through magazines and books on wedding decorations. Remember to bookmark the ideas that catch your interest. For instance, if you are looking for floral arrangements, visit a few floral decoration shops. This would give an idea regarding the various kinds of floral arrangements.

  • Organize Your Ideas

Organize the various ideas you come across in a file or a note book. You could name the organizer as " Wedding decorations". This would be helpful in making your final decisions regarding the wedding decorations.

  • Decide the Theme

Since you are making your own wedding decorations, it would be an awesome idea to have a wedding theme. Color scheme plays an important role in a wedding theme. You could choose your favorite color and plan on making various wedding decorations keeping in mind the color scheme.

  • Budgeting

Budget is the most important factor while deciding on the wedding decorations. The cost of making your wedding decorations should be taken into account. The reason is wedding decorations are just one part of your wedding celebration. You would have to take into account the cost of your wedding dress, music, bouquets, food and also the miscellaneous expenses that could crop up.

Make your Own Wedding Decoration Themes

Here are a few wedding decoration themes.

One of the most popular wedding decoration ideas is using balloons. You could decorate your reception room, church and also your bedroom using balloons. You could ask a few of your friends to help you in making a large balloon arch.

Another wedding decoration you could make on your own is using flowers. Here you could use either artificial flowers or the real flowers. Everything depends on your floral decoration budget. If you are determined to use real flowers, it would be wise to use various seasonal flowers. You could purchase in bulk from the local florists or get it directly from the grower. Another option is using silk flowers for making floral arrangements and bouquets. Silk flowers are less expensive compared to real flowers. You could have a wonderful centerpiece floral arrangement using silk flowers.

Table decoration is as important as a floral centerpiece. Decide on the color of your tablecloth. Use a neutral color tablecloth that is simple. An intricately patterned lace cloth over a plan tablecloth would look good. Use simple china tableware. It would blend with any color scheme of your choice.

Making your own wedding decorations would add a personal touch to your wedding. Once you have decided on the various wedding decorations, get the help of couple of friends. Before you start on the various wedding decorations project, get a sample of these decorations that was professional made. Determine the tools required for the wedding decoration project and assemble the same in a card box. This would make the work of making your own wedding decorations easy.

Cheap Wedding Decoration Ideas

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

While most of the couple today are thinking of preparing a fortune to spend for one of their most memorable day – wedding, some might find this hard to believe that planning a cheap wedding is quite easy to do. Just like planning for an extravagant wedding celebration, cheap wedding ideas are also great and fun, and can be really unique and creative, too! So if you are one of many couples who opt to have a cheap wedding without compromising what you have desired to be in your special day, consider saving money on your wedding location, reception and decorations.

wedding reception table decorations, cheap wedding decorations
One way to trim down your wedding expenditures is by planning of having a cheap wedding location. Planning to have this cheap idea is not impossible to do. In fact, you can have your wedding ceremony in a variety of locations that are completely free. A great example could be a local park. Usually, going to a local public parks doesn’t require any fees, and so planning a cheap wedding ceremony there doesn’t give you any cost. They don’t usually require any permits of other fees too. However, just make sure you have double checked it with your local city authorities before anything else.

Beaches are also a free place where you can held your wedding. Other ideas may include: having your wedding at a family member’s home, or having it in your own backyard. If you and your partner loves nature, it may be free or very inexpensive to have your ceremony at a local zoo, nature reserve, or even at flower conservatory also.

Another area where you can save some money is your wedding reception. If you are on a tight budget, you can always go with cheap wedding reception, and believe or not this is not too difficult either. One of the most popular cheap reception is idea is to make a pot luck meal. You can ask each of your guests to bring their own dish. But if you’d rather not ask guests to bring food for your wedding reception, then perhaps asking a few family members to get together and cook food as a wedding gift for you can lighten your burden.

Planning a cheap wedding receptions should also involve choosing cheap location for the reception too. Example, if you’d like to have your wedding ceremony in the gazebo at the park, then perhaps the best reception option could be a barbecue or picnic style in that same park. Another easy and cheap option is of course, having your wedding ceremony in your own home. Then you can have your reception in your home as well, or out in the backyard if the weather agreed.

Wedding decorations are not only fun to deal with, but they can also cut down your wedding expenses.

weddings reception decorations, wholesale wedding decorations You don’t have to go without them completely though, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend a big amount of dollars, rather you just need to improvise. Example, instead of buying expensive flowers for instance, try decorating with balloons and streamers instead. You may purchase a few spools of pretty ribbon at the nearest craft store or fabric store. Grab few balloons and tie them together using the strips of the ribbon. Also tie the ribbons into bows themselves, then tape the ribbon bows around for decorations by themselves.

Other ways where you can save money on your wedding is to purchase cheap wedding favors, inexpensive bridesmaids gifts, and discount groomsmen gifts. Giving wedding gifts to your guests and attendants doesn’t give you any reason to overspend your budget. After all, it is not the cost that is being valued, rather the thought behind it.

5 Ways to Save on Wedding Decor

After selecting the perfect reception site, it’s all about the details. Event decor can make or break the ambiance, but don’t assume it has to break your wedding budget. With my sound advice, you can find simple ways to get the most bang for your decorating buck.

After selecting the perfect reception site, it’s all about the details. Consider the venue a blank canvas upon which to create your stylistic masterpiece. Event dcor can make or break the ambiance, but don’t assume it has to break your wedding budget. Rememberless is always more. With my sound advice, you can find simple ways to get the most bang for your decorating buck.

Choose Wisely -

Make your wedding venue work for you – not against you. Find a ceremony and reception site that complements your desired style so that you don’t have to decorate around it with pricey floral arrangements. For instance, if you envision a relaxed natural setting, go with a park or botanical garden. Or for a formal stately affair, consider a museum or historical building, with dominant architecture as your wedding backdrop.

Something Borrowed -

Add a personalized touch and honor your heritage by using family photos as wedding dcor pieces. Gather some stylish frames and ask for photos from both sides from the family (black and white works perfectly here). These inexpensive touches can embellish your guest book table or decorate otherwise dcor-impaired spaces in the facility.

Think Double Duty -

Wedding flowers are pricey, so make your floral arrangements earn their keep. Invite your ceremony flowers to the reception! You can use them to decorate your cake or gift table – and your guests will never be the wiser.

Go For Impact -

cheap wedding decorations, gazebo wedding decorations
Unfortunately, some elements of your special day simply go unnoticed by guests. So if your budget won’t allow you to drape your entire reception area in stylish dcor pieces, relax. You can still create a noticeable impact by saving your decorating dollars for the areas that will pack the biggest punch – such as the entranceway.

See The Light -

The right lighting can transform an ordinary room into something extraordinary. If hiring a lighting technician is out of your budget, consider creating this effect with candles. Fill glass bowls with floating candles and flowers, or place a single pillar candle in a hurricane lantern for a dramatic effect. The result is romantic and elegant…and inexpensive.

Great Ideas for Wedding Receptions

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Wedding decorations are not about the amount of money you spend but the perfect ambiance of beauty romance and elegance created at the wedding venue.

Wedding Decoration Ideas, Wedding Ceremony Decoration

Somewhere there waiteth in this world of ours
for one lone soul, another lonely soul -
Each chasing each through all the weary hours,
And meeting strangely at one sudden goal;
Then blend they – like green leaves with golden flowers,
Into one beautiful and perfect whole -
And life’s long night is ended, and the way
Lies open onward to eternal day.
~ Sir Edwin Arnold

One of my most favorite wedding scenes from movies has to be the one in Runaway Bride where the marriage-phobic bride (Julia Roberts) gets married to the love of her life (Richard Gere) on a tranquil green hill with the Pastor, the bride and the groom being the only people involved in the ceremony. Most of the weddings that we’ve seen on television or in films are beautifully crafted, and hence seem utterly romantic no matter how big or small the wedding is.

Some couples like their wedding to be a huge celebration or a grant fiesta whereas some couples prefer to keep it a hush-hush affair with a small guest list and a modest venue. No matter how grand your wedding is or how modest you want it to be wedding decorations still remain to be one of the important elements, which need to be taken care of while planning a wedding.

White satin curtains, fragrant beautiful flowers, elegant chandeliers, glowing candle stands and love in the air…Wedding decorations are about all this and much more. No matter how big or small your wedding, the wedding venue has to be decorated well to create the perfect ambiance where the two soul-mates can walk down the aisle and pledge their eternal love for each other.

Wedding decorations include decoration of the entire venue with attention twedding reception ideaso every detail like decoration of the entrance, the aisle, the chairs, the centerpieces, the walls, the food, the flowers, the lighting and the wedding favors as well. Wedding decorations can be a hectic task and while some people want to give it a personal touch and do it on their own, others prefer to hire the experts and leave the job to professional decorators or wedding planners.

No matter which option you choose for wedding decorations, make sure that the decorations match the overall theme of the wedding and are done with the consent of the bride and the groom. Wedding decorations should be beautiful, functional and elegant. Thinking on the lines of ‘more is less’ principle can be a great idea while decorating a wedding venue since too much or over-the-top decorations can be very distractive.

Many couples like to build their wedding around a favorite theme for example a medieval wedding, a spring wedding, or a Victorian wedding according to your tastes and liking. Choose your theme and if you do not want to pick a specific theme just pick a color scheme and build your wedding decorations around it.

Wedding reception table decorations, wedding receptin ideas
Make you wedding decorations stylish and innovative. Concentrate on the lighting of the venue since lighting can affect the quality of your wedding photographs. Make sure the flower decorations are minimal and elegant. Stick to a color scheme while planning the wedding decorations in order to incorporate a sense of harmony in all the decorations. Make sure you get stylish place card holders, table napkins, candle stands, and cutlery sets that match the wedding theme.

Remember that wedding decorations help to make the wedding venue more beautiful and hence memorable however always remember that it is not the amount of money you spend but the kind of decorating ideas that you incorporate help to transform an ordinary venue into a beautiful and romantic place for the wedding.

Wedding Reception Decorations

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009

Here are some decorating ideas for wedding receptions. Read on …

Decorating Ideas for Wedding Receptions, wedding table decorations

Wedding Receptions are about getting together to rejoice! A wedding reception is about celebrating the union of the two in love. It is about partying and marveling at the very special day in the life of the married couple. It cannot go without eye-catching decorations. Decorating for wedding receptions is all about adding enchantment to the already enchanted minds.

Decorating for wedding receptions bears fruit if it is planned ahead in time. Plan well and have people help you out with the decorations. Decorating ideas for wedding receptions involve everything from the embellishment of the entrance to that of the reception cake. Apart from its exquisiteness, it represents the hospitality. Decorations are about grandeur and also about greeting your guests and seeing them return satisfied.

To adorn the entrance, you can light up the doorway with twinkling lights. Flower garlands of lacy cloth can do up the entrance. Rose petals on the way to the hall with artificial birds or butterflies on both sides can be used to beautify the entryway.

Decorating the ceiling can add to the aura in the wedding reception party. Adorn the ceiling with colorful strings and curly ribbons. Dim or bright lights looking down from the ceiling will light up the atmosphere. Hanging bells in the corners or from the center of the hall ceiling will give that extra warm feel to the party. Balloons add a celebratory touch to the reception hall.

Your guests will spend most of their time on and around the tables. So make sure the centerpiece and the tables look good. Flowers are a great option for the centerpieces. Match the colors of flowers with the colors worn by the couple. Candles of various colors and fragrances look at their best as centerpieces. Use long tablecloths to cover the tables. Match the napkin colors with those of the tablecloths. You can use candles to adorn the tabletops.

The reception cake is the under the spotlight! Don’t forget to decorate the cake table as also the floor around the cake table. That will make the cake stand out. Light up the space around the cake in a special way. That will highlight the cake.

If you have themed your reception party, the hall decoration will have to take into account the theme used. The lights, the flowers used for decoration should go in tune with the theme decided. Using only candlelight, using flowers of a certain color or using only glass for the decoration are potential themes for wedding receptions. Themes can range from dressing in a common color up to enacting a particular time period. They give a consistent look to the party.

wedding decoration ideas, gazebo wedding decorations
A beautiful blend of light, flowers and water is my personal favorite. If you have planned an outdoor party, you can make lanterns float on water. That will give an elegant look to the decoration. Even in case of an indoor party, small lights or candles can be made to float in bowls of water. Place this arrangement to fill up empty spaces of the hall. They can also be placed on dinner of buffet tables. Flower vases, small potted plants look good in certain areas of the hall.

In decorating the hall or the outdoors, don’t forget the people for whom the party is being given. The bride and the groom are those special people gracing the party. So make them feel nice and special. Guests arrive to celebrate their togetherness. The couple is the reason for the celebration. Wish them a happy life!

Wedding Ceremony Decoration Ideas

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

Wedding planning can be fun and sometimes a little overwhelming, especially when it comes to decorating. There are a lot of little things that can have a huge impact without taking a lot of time.

While many facilities will take care of the decorating for you, most ceremony locations don’t. They just don’t have the staff or the demand to provide that kind of service, although they can sometimes offer advice as to what other couples have done in the past. Ask lots of questions and keep an open mind. The ceremony location, whether it be a church, park, or backyard, will likely be where you spend the least amount of time on your wedding day, but it’s where the most important thing happens! You don’t want to spend your entire decorating budget here, but you do want everything to be perfect.

wedding reception table decorations, wedding ceremony decoration
There are a few different areas you can focus your attention on and some areas you may not want to get too caught up with. With some advanced planning and a little help from friends on the big day, your ceremony location can look almost as fantastic as you do.

Altar – A couple of well-placed flower arrangements close to the altar will have a huge impact to the atmosphere of your ceremony. The flowers can either match the bridal bouquets or be all white, or even an assortment of colors that complement your bridal party. When choosing these arrangements consider reusing the bouquets at the reception location after the ceremony, and what kind of arrangement will suit both venues. Also consider whether you want to use real or silk flowers. Silk arrangements can be a great fuss-free alternative and can be prepared well in advance of the wedding to minimize last minute stress. All you need on the wedding day is someone to set them up at the ceremony location and then bring them to the reception.

Entrance – A great way to welcome your guests to your ceremony is to add a special touch to the door or entrance so the mood is set as soon as they walk in. You could hang a wreath or two on the doors, put a planter with some potted flowers on either side of the door, or even put a sign on or near the door welcoming your guests with a love poem. Many couples use wedding programs as a way to introduce their bridal party to guests and to add special messages they may not have an opportunity to say out loud. Extra programs can be arranged in a decorated basket, or on a small table just as people enter. Plain baskets can be decorated with silk flowers or vines, which can also be prepared well before the wedding day.

Pews – You’re likely to find conflicting advise about pew decorations. I personally think they’re overrated and are often more hassle than they’re worth. The traditional pew decoration is to tie or tape a tulle bow to the end of the pew. I’ve seen many weddings where the bows start to fall off as guests walk past and are seated, not to mention when the bride walks down the aisle with her fancy dress and train! If not secured carefully, pew bows can look more messy than festive, and no bride wants to be wearing pew bows an an extra accessory. An alternative to is to have a spray of fresh or silk flowers (securely) attached to the pew.

Those are the basics covered off. If you want to go all out with decorating, consider using an archway at the entrance or beginning of the aisle. The arch can be decorated with tulle, flowers, ribbons and/or garlands. Just make sure you and your escort can fit through it with ease.

wedding reception table decorations
You can also decorate the table where you and your honey will be signing the record of marriage. Try using some ribbons around the edge of the table, or a bouquet that complements any flowers you have closer to the altar.

A word about candles… they can be a great addition to a wedding ceremony, especially during evening celebrations, but think ahead before getting your heart set on them. During outdoor weddings, the slightest breeze can blow them out if they aren’t properly protected. For indoor ceremonies, make sure you have the appropriate holders for them. I once attended a wedding where most of the guests paid more attention to the wax dripping onto the carpeted church floor than they did to the exchanging of vows. The couple had dozens of candles in fancy candelabras which looked great at the start of their sunset ceremony, but had melted into a big mess by the end. If you intend to use candles, check with the facility to make sure they will allow it, then ensure that the candles and the hot wax will be well-contained.

Make sure you visit the ceremony location often to make your decorating plans. You don’t need to have any decorating surprises on your wedding day, so measure areas you want to decorate and plan accordingly. Also bring with you the person who will be setting up your decorations so they are comfortable with the arrangements and may notice if furniture has been unexpectedly moved. You won’t likely have time to do the decorating yourself, and your sweetie will be too nervous to remember where things go and what they’re supposed to look like, no matter how early he gets there.

Wedding Arch Ideas

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Wedding arches are known to add an element of interest to any wedding. With planning, wedding arches can be designed to be the focal point as well. Read on for some ideas on decorating wedding arches.

Wedding arches are also as important as any other feature when planning for a weddinwedding arch decorations, outdoor wedding decorationsg. Most wedding arches are fancy in its appearance but you can give a personal touch to such wedding arches as well. Decorating wedding arches may require some concentration and time from your side, but the end results are bound to make it worth the effort. Wedding arch decoration can be fancy and really decorative or elaborate, as per your personal preferences and tastes. Personalizing and planning for decorative arches for the wedding can be a fun affair and can give you the satisfaction of having a very unique piece and not something that is commonly available for most weddings. After all, with all the incessant planning for the wedding, wedding arches also need some creative thought as well. Decorating wedding arches gives you the freedom to plan as per the kind of wedding you are planning to have. This is dependant upon certain factors.

Factors involved for Decorating Wedding Arches:
Decorating wedding arches would require you to consider the colors used for the interior designing and dcor of the wedding. You would also need to know about the theme of the wedding. Wedding arches are available in many different types and these can be decorated with ease to match the other features of the wedding. These are also available in various materials such as wood, iron etc., which are in also in varied hues and heights as well. Antique looking arches look great for an English garden. Abstract designs look best for modern weddings.

What about the location of your wedding? Is this planned in the outdoors? Where the wedding will take place will also be the deciding factor for wedding arches. Think about the season as well. Decorating wedding arches would also require you to keep in mind what is the season because your decoration can also go hand-in-hand to suit the mood of the particular season. The colors of the season can be successfully implemented in the wedding arches. This would help to add to the mood of the event as well.

Plan the exact location of the wedding arch. This would help you to judge the kind of decoration you would need for the wedding arches as well. This can be placed at the front of the aisle or even at the back. Wedding arches also provide to be a good backdrop for group pictures and add to the beauty of the photograph.

Ideas for Decorating Wedding Arches:
Wedding balloon arches are quite popular owing to the happy and fun environment they create. Such kind of wedding balloon arches need to be done up on the day of the wedding. You can look for professional help in the city or even have helium filled balloons with the help of enthusiastic family members or friends.

Floral wedding arches are another such option. The season would also help in deciding the kind of flowers you would need to use. If it is springtime and your wedding is in the outdoors, you can add bright colors and choose a white lattice arch, which can help you weave your flowers easily. Picture the grand floral wedding arch, in soothing shades of pinks and white, with a dab of red in between and green intertwined through these flowers. Floral arches would require the help of a professional but these are one of the best ways to have a romantic and quaint touch to the entire atmosphere. Charming, pretty and ultra stylish as well, floral wedding arches sure do make a statement.

Have you always been a beach bum? Need to try something different for your wedding? The beach theme is very popular and nothing can be better than having wedding arches that go along with this theme. People who cannot actually celebrate on the beach itself, often compromise by decking up the place to resemble one. Sand, bottles, shells…all add to the atmosphere and the setting. Add some of these to the wedding arches and see this become the most attractive feature of the wedding. Add some ribbons and organza that will give a romantic touch. If the wedding is at the beach, you need to consider the sudden gusts of the wind that can uproot your wedding arch! Look for a sturdy arch in such cases and accessorize it with elements that can be secured tightly.

In case of a garden wedding, flowers would again be the most preferred option. Loads of fresh flowers, ivy, organza and ribbons with other such climbing plants all help to add to the green look! You can even try and add some texture to the wedding arches. This can be done easily by attaching some branches or vines to the arch. These are available in the craft stores as well.

Wedding arches help to add beauty to the location. Decorating wedding arches would need you to seek help from professionals as well as family members, at times. Begin your planning in advance, as this would also help you to get things streamlined by the time your wedding date arrives. Use your creativity in the best way possible.

Tips for Planning a Small Wedding

Interested in planning a small wedding? But you want it to be classy and elegant, right? No problem! We can help!

A small wedding can be far more intimate than a large wedding, and planning a small wedding is well within the reach of most people. At a small wedding, you will have more time to spend with your friends and family, and it will most likely be far less stressful. You will be able to concentrate on the details and make sure everyone has an enjoyable time.

church wedding decorations, wholesale wedding decorations When planning a small wedding for a few close friends and family members, you will be able to be more flexible with some of the details than you would otherwise. For example, where food is concerned you’ll have a lot more leeway. Depending on what your budget will allow, you can have hors d’oeuvres, a full buffet, or go all out with a catered event. If your wedding party is small enough, you can even reserve a room at a nice restaurant.

Planning a small wedding should not break the budget, and you can spend the money where it really matters. While no one will remember what they ate or drank, the photos and videos from the event will last forever. Your wedding should be a one-time affair, and you’ll want to capture photos of you in your wedding gown, and you’ll want them to be of the highest quality. You definitely don’t want to skimp on the photos and videos.

You will be able to involve your guests for when planning a small wedding. At one wedding, the couple had each guest sign their name and write their sentiments on the tablecloth. Through the next several years, the wife took those sentiments and embroidered them onto the tablecloth. Today, that is a cherished heirloom that will get passed down through the generations.

Smaller, more intimate weddings generally seem more personal than the large social gatherings some couples choose. When you are planning a small wedding, you have a lot more options on where to hold the event. You can have it in your home or another home, you could have a garden wedding, or you could rent a gazebo and have the wedding guests gather around it has you exchange vows.

Whether you decide to plan a small wedding or a large wedding, the size of the wedding is not necessarily tied to the size of the budget. Many couples have large weddings on a small budget, and you can definitely have a small wedding on a large budget. If you are planning a small wedding though, you should be better able to get the groom involved with the planning. Large weddings can be intimidating to the groom, as they see a lot of people involved. Planning a small wedding gives you both an opportunity to exchange ideas before you exchange your vows.

A Look At Garden Gazebos

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

A garden gazebo is the perfect way to accent your garden. Imagine being able to walk along the path between the koi pond and the flowers, the hedges and the willow tree, pausing to rest on a bench inside a gazebo. Its shade will comfort you, and its architecture will add that special geometric touch to your garden, striking the balance between nature and humanity. No matter what the environment of your garden, there is a garden gazebo out there just waiting to be bought.

In creating a garden gazebo, first choose your material from wood, metal, or vinyl options. Wood is the most common choice, and for good reason: it goes with any natural environment. Wood is available in pine, cedar, and redwood. Pine is the softest wood, ages to a rich yellow, and complements surrounding evergreens. Cedar is higher in overall sturdiness, is less prone to rot, and ages to a gray-brown. American redwood is the darkest, longest-lasting wood. Other woods can be used, but those are the most common.

These gazebos are often open-roofed, and so are great for stocking with plants, climbers, and other materials, making for a lush shade that changes with the seasons. Vinyl comes in white or black. Just as with wood and metal gazebos, they come in a variety of shapes and styles. Get trellis walls for a cottage feeling.
For enhanced usability in harsher weather conditions, get an enclosed garden gazebo. These can be partially enclosed, with partitions and movable screens, or totally enclosed, with solid walls and tinted windows.
Whether looking to expand a large corporate garden, or just to complement a small neighborhood plot, a garden gazebo is an inviting structure for rest, meditation, or meeting up with other people to enjoy the weather.

Wedding Planning and Theme Tips

Friday, February 6th, 2009

There is nothing more hectic in a woman’s life than planning her wedding.  So many things need to be taken into consideration, such as wedding rings, the dress, invitations, music, the venue…the list goes on and on.  Here are some things to keep in mind when planning your wedding: wedding reception decoration ideas

1.) Of course you need to get wedding rings.  Make sure the one you get is the one you want.  You’ll be wearing it for the rest of your life.

2.)  Your wedding dress doesn’t have to be white.  If you have always dreamed about having a red wedding dress, get it.  Don’t let other people’s opinion have an effect on your choices when it comes to your special day.

3.)  Make sure your bridal party (maid of honor and bridesmaids) help you out.  If you need help, ask them for it.  That’s what they were given the title for.

4.)  Don’t let one thing spoil the whole thing for you.  If something doesn’t work out, it’s okay. Chances are, no one will even notice but you.

There are so many different ways you can plan a wedding.  You can have a traditional wedding, a modern wedding, a theme wedding, or even a Las Vegas wedding.  Some ideas for theme weddings are a vintage wedding, western wedding, fairy tale…the choices are endless.

If you are planning a theme wedding, a good idea to keep the theme simple, and stick with it.  For example, don’t wear a vintage or antique wedding dress if you are trying to have a modern theme wedding.

If you are interested in a vintage theme wedding, you can check out different ideas here.
