One of my most favorite wedding scenes from movies has to be the one in Runaway Bride where the marriage-phobic bride (Julia Roberts) gets married to the love of her life (Richard Gere) on a tranquil green hill with the Pastor, the bride and the groom being the only people involved in the ceremony. Most of the weddings that we’ve seen on television or in films are beautifully crafted, and hence seem utterly romantic no matter how big or small the wedding is.

Some couples like their wedding to be a huge celebration or a grant fiesta whereas some couples prefer to keep it a hush-hush affair with a small guest list and a modest venue. No matter how grand your wedding is or how modest you want it to be wedding decorations still remain to be one of the important elements, which need to be taken care of while planning a wedding.

White satin curtains, fragrant beautiful flowers, elegant chandeliers, glowing candle stands and love in the air…Wedding decorations are about all this and much more. No matter how big or small your wedding, the wedding venue has to be decorated well to create the perfect ambiance where the two soul-mates can walk down the aisle and pledge their eternal love for each other.

Wedding decorations include decoration of the entire venue with attention to every detail like decoration of the entrance, the aisle, the chairs, the centerpieces, the walls, the food, the flowers, the lighting and the wedding favors as well. Wedding decorations can be a hectic task and while some people want to give it a personal touch and do it on their own, others prefer to hire the experts and leave the job to professional decorators or wedding planners.

No matter which option you choose for wedding decorations, make sure that the decorations match the overall theme of the wedding and are done with the consent of the bride and the groom. Wedding decorations should be beautiful, functional and elegant. Thinking on the lines of ‘more is less’ principle can be a great idea while decorating a wedding venue since too much or over-the-top decorations can be very distractive.

Many couples like to build their wedding around a favorite theme for example a medieval wedding, a spring wedding, or a Victorian wedding according to your tastes and liking. Choose your theme and if you do not want to pick a specific theme just pick a color scheme and build your wedding decorations around it.

Make you wedding decorations stylish and innovative. Concentrate on the lighting of the venue since lighting can affect the quality of your wedding photographs. Make sure the flower decorations are minimal and elegant. Stick to a color scheme while planning the wedding decorations in order to incorporate a sense of harmony in all the decorations. Make sure you get stylish place card holders, table napkins, candle stands, and cutlery sets that match the wedding theme.

Remember that wedding decorations help to make the wedding venue more beautiful and hence memorable however always remember that it is not the amount of money you spend but the kind of decorating ideas that you incorporate help to transform an ordinary venue into a beautiful and romantic place for the wedding.
