Organizing Your Perfect Wedding

Friday, June 12th, 2009

If you are planning a wedding then you should know the wedding planning timelines.

It can take up to one year to plan a wedding, depending on when and where it is to be held.

One year before

First, a date must be set for the wedding. If it is to be held in the most popular months, May, June, July or August, a year ahead is not too early to start reserving the church, and lining up the members you wish in the wedding party. Establish the budget. If you are using a florist, start getting estimates of floral arrangements for tables and church. You will also need to decide styles of corsages, boutonnires and whether or not to have a flower girl with rose petals to strew in the bride’s path. Decide on a theme for your wedding.

Six to Nine Months before

Reserve a banquet hall and hire a band. You will need to enter into a legal contract with the band so you will not find yourself without music at the last minute. Make arrangements for your soloist for your wedding ceremony. Locate a photographer and establish numbers of pictures desired. It is time to shop for your wedding dress and bridesmaid’s dresses, and start getting estimates on tuxedo rentals.

Three to Six Months before

Decide on the number of guests to be invited. Contact various printers in your area to get prices and decide on the style of invitations. Order your invitations. Contact the tuxedo rental store to make a commitment to rent from them. Contact the florist you have chosen and make a commitment to purchase from them. Decide on the banquet menu and get estimates from caterers. Make a commitment to the chosen one. If you need to have a bakery provide the cake, it is time to get that ordered also.

Two to Three Months before

Register at your favorite stores. Shop for the wedding accessories you will need, such as wedding guest books, wine glasses for the ceremonial toast, cake knife, gifts for wedding party, wedding favors and table centerpieces. Pick up your invitations from the printer and get them addressed. Check in with your florist, caterer, photographer, church, band, etc. to be sure all is on track. Solve any problems. Try on dresses to see if alternations are needed. Try on tuxedos.

wedding table decorations, wedding reception decoration ideas One Month before

Make arrangements for rehearsal dinner. It is time to mail the wedding invitations. Arrange for wedding rehearsal with church and minister. Attend showers.

One Week before

It is time for the rehearsal. After the rehearsal, enjoy the company of the wedding party at dinner.

One Day before

Gather all dresses, tuxedos, reception decorations, etc. and deliver them to the church or banquet hall. Get hairdos. Tomorrow is the big day.

Theme Based Wedding Decorations

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

You will need to make tons of decisions during your wedding planning. Of all the decisions you are going to make, one of the most important will be the decorations of your reception hall.

weddings reception decorations, yourself wedding decorations You wedding decorations should follow your wedding theme. Otherwise it will become pointless to spend so much effort, as well as money on your decorations. Some couples will hire vendors to do the decorations for them. However, a vendor which does not really provide services of high quality may give you all the ready made items which have been used many times before. As a result, you should have your own decoration idea in mind in order to take your decorations to another level.

You should start your wedding decoration based on your hobbies. The ideas generated should be applied to all the wedding items so that they will become a unity.

There was a real case on wedding theme and wedding decorations. A wedding decoration firm got an order from an couple. The couple did not have any idea about the wedding theme and decorations at the very beginning. After a few meetings with the couples, it is found that the bride is an oil painting lover. This becomes the concept generator of the theme and decorations. They decided to make the reception hall like an art gallery, with oil paintings hanged on the walls. This idea turned to be a very successful job of the company.

In the above case, although it seems that the groom was left out in the decoration design, the groom, as well the parents of the couple, were all satisfied with the decorations. However, if I were the company and the bride can manage to do so, I would further suggest the bride to do all the oil paints herself so that the reception hall becomes a venue of an oil painting exhibition of the bride. The guests will certainly be impressed and amazed by such a wonderful exhibition.

All of us have different hobbies and preferences and the above idea is only an example which cannot be applied to your case directly. You should applied the concwholesale wedding decorations, church wedding decorationsept behind instead. Since the wedding should reflect the couple, it will be always a good idea to plan for your wedding theme and decorations based on your hobbies and preferences. For example, if both of you and your partner love to collect vintage items, you can certainly bring the items you collected to the reception hall and use them to decorate your wedding venue. You wedding reception hall will become an exhibition on vintage items, and this should be a unique and special design for your reception hall. You guests will be amazed when they see a typewriter which is made on the 50s in your wedding.

One final suggestion is that, you should never make up some "hobbies" in order to decorate your wedding venue. You have to bear in mind that it is your wedding. Your wedding should be able to reflect your and your partner. It will be pointless to make up something just for the decorations of the wedding.

Planning Your Perfect Wedding

Steps To Your Perfect Wedding

Step 1: Budget. When planning your budget you will need to decide which of these items you want to include in your wedding and how much money to spend on each.

Step 2: Size. The size of your guest list will depend on personal preference and budget. Some brides dream of a huge wedding with 300 guests, while others prefer an intimate ceremony with only close friends and family. We settled on 100 guests–large enough to invite who we really wanted to come and small enough that it still felt personal.

Step 3: Planning and Scheduling. Planning and follow-up are the most important factors in getting the wedding you want. That beautiful atrium in the park is probably booked years in advance as are many beautiful, old churches. Even if you are planning to get married in your own church and use its reception hall, you’ll need to find out about fees and availability. Research reception locations by looking in local bridal magazines, newspaper bridal sections and online. If a friend or family member has a beautiful back yard, you may want to have your wedding there. It would make an excellent wedding present. Choosing the locations of your ceremony and reception should be the first thing you do after settling on a budget. You can not plan or schedule anything until you know when and where everything will happen.

Step 4: Food and Alcohol. The food you give your guests does not have to be expensive. They are there to witness your marriage and celebrate with you. If you serve Chicken Francaise instead of Filet Mignon they will not enjoy themselves less. For drinks, you have many options. You may decide not to serve alcohol. Or, you may serve one or two special drinks-you can even name one after yourself and your groom. You may also decide to offer an open bar. Remember that alcohol can eat up a large portion of your budget. Talk to the caterer about your options.

Step 5: Wedding Party. The size of your wedding party should match the size of your wedding. If you have 300 guests, 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen will fit right in. But, if you have 80 guests in a small church, it may look comical trying to fit those 20 attendants on the small church alter.

Step 6: Music. If you are having a church wedding, ask the priest or pastor if he can recommend someone to play the ceremony music. Or, you may know someone who could play at your wedding as a wedding gift. For your reception, should you choose a band or a DJ? Having a live band at your reception can be special, but expensive. We chose to have a DJ, not just for the savings but because he could play any song and it would sound great. Whatever you choose, go over what is required. Are there any songs you DO NOT want played? Do you want the DJ or musician to introduce the wedding party, start off the first dance, and announce when it is time to cut the cake? Often this is included, if not-speak to whoever is in charge of your reception location and find out if they offer this service.

Step 7: Traditions. Some couples disregard traditions. Other couples want to include them or even start their own. The biggest tradition is probably the bride carrying "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." But, there are many other traditions you can incorporate. If you don’t wear your mother’s wedding dress, you may want to pin a piece of its lace onto your slip or tie it around your bouquet. You can wrap a family locket around your bouquet with pictures of you and your groom. I attached my mother’s antique brooch, which had been handed down from my grandmother, to a chain and wore it as a necklace. It made me feel as if they were with me on my wedding day and it meant a lot.

Step 8: Invitations. Invitations are another item that can be surprisingly expensive. They don’t have to be. I knew exactly what type of invitation I wanted, but at a stationer, it would have cost $800 to $1000. I did a lot of searching online and was able to order two less expensive sets of invitations, put them together how I wanted and ended up spending less than $400. Places like Staples and Michael’s also have nice invitations that you can print yourself at home for less than $100.

Step 9: Photographer. This is where we spent a bigger portion of our budget (Only the reception location, with food included, cost more). Even if our wedding was the best wedding in the world, it would only last for a few hours. With good pictures, we could relive it over and over. When you look for a photographer, ask questions. Who will be the photographer? What if he is sick? If you hire a company that has several photographers you may be shown sample wedding photographs from the best photographer. You sign up. Then on your wedding day "your" photographer can’t make it and someone else shows up-someone probably much less talented. Also, ask if the photographer will shoot in color, black and white, or both. Will he shoot traditional shots, photojournalism, or both? Will you be able to keep the proofs? Can you buy the negatives? How much time will the photographer spend at your wedding? Will he also take photos of the bride and groom preparing for the wedding?

Wedding Table Decorations, wedding ceremony decorations
Step 10: Dress. Some brides feel they need to spend a lot of money on "the dress." My husband thought my dress would be the biggest expense, but it was one of the smallest. The dress I fell in love with happened to be on sale because it was discontinued. It was just my size! I didn’t even need alterations. How often does that happen?! Even if you are not that lucky, there are thousands of beautiful wedding dresses between $150 and $850. Check out the large bridal stores as well as your local bridal shops. If you like tradition, you can wear your mother’s wedding dress and have it altered to fit your style. You want to love your wedding dress, but remember-you will only wear it one time for about 8 hours.

Step 11: Flowers. Choose flowers that match your wedding colors. Your local florist can make suggestions and tell which flowers will be in season (they will be less expensive). The flower arrangements were one thing I should have followed-up on with a second meeting. I told the florist exactly what I wanted for my bridal bouquet-deep red roses, no greenery, long matching ribbons (which I provided), and how I wanted the roses gathered. I even gave her a picture. We also discussed the attendants’ bouquets and flowers for the reception tables. The day of the wedding, the attendants’ flowers were more beautiful than I imagined and the table flowers were gorgeous. My bridal bouquet was almost nothing like what I had asked for. I had red roses, but also plenty of greenery, no ribbons, and an ugly plastic piece that held the flowers. The wedding was in an hour and there was nothing I could do. I tried to put it out of my mind and concentrated on everything else that was wonderful about that day. Remember-follow up is one of the most important factors in getting the wedding you want.

Step 12: Hair & Makeup. Many brides go to a salon and have their hair and makeup done. If you do, have a trial run so you know you will be happy with the results on your wedding day. Going to a salon is not a necessity. You may decide to do your own hair and makeup or have a friend do it. You can schedule practice sessions and try several hairstyles to get it perfect.

Step 13: Cake. Many reception halls provide the wedding cake. Mine did. However, I was not happy with my choices. They agreed to make the red velvet cake I requested, but not the decoration I wanted. I had seen exactly what I wanted in a wedding magazine so I called the bakery listed in the back. The baker was able to make the decoration (without the cake) and ship it to my reception hall. The nice people at the hall, accepted the shipment and put the decoration on the cake. It was perfect! If you plan to do something like this, make sure everyone involved is willing to do their part. Then follow through and make sure the shipment is sent, that it arrives, and that the cake maker knows how to arrange the decorations (give her a picture).

outdoor wedding decorations, wedding decoration ideas
Step 14: Favors. These little mementos are small tokens of appreciation to your guests for sharing in your special day. There are many options to choose from. You can give something that matches the theme of your wedding, such as starfish wine stoppers if you are having a beach wedding. Or, you can give something that symbolizes the love you share with your new husband such as a scented candle with the monogram you share as a couple. You can give something edible such as the traditional chocolate covered almonds, or you can make your own favors. Just try to give something your guests will appreciate and use. A wine glass with your and your groom’s name and wedding date may be pretty, but not very practical to a guest.

Step 15: Relax! You’ve done the research. You’ve done the planning. You’ve done the shopping and creating. And, you’ve done the follow-up. It’s now time to relax and enjoy the day. Don’t worry about the little things that go wrong-because something will go wrong (remember my wedding bouquet?). The important thing is that at the end of the day-after the ceremony that is witnessed by your friends and family, after the dancing and laughing and partying-you will be married. You and your groom are starting your new life together. That’s the most important thing.

Wedding Plans & Precious Bridal Tips -things That Can Spoil The Perfect Wedding Day If You Let Them

Wedding pWeddings reception decorations for wholesale wedding decorationslans have you made yours yet. Are you to be a spring bride, if so then you need to get things rolling "now" to avoid any last minute hiccups that could spoil your wedding day? You need to be "organized," if not, then "prepared" being the more appropriate word to use for the worst happening. When making wedding plans keep in mind that "two heads are better than one." This can be a stressful time for the future bride, however by knowing the things you want and how to go about getting them will have you avoid hours of bridal mayhem. Make sure to involve your future husband with all wedding plans so he has the opportunity to contribute or have his say.

It doesn`t matter how precise you are you can bet something will go belly up on the day. Even the wedding experts can get it wrong sometimes. It only takes the slightest little thing to spoil what may have taken you a year or two to plan, if not longer. Typical mishaps like forgetting to inform the chauffeur where the church service is to be held or mislaying the wedding rings are a couple to mention. If you finalize particular wedding tasks early enough then you`re half way there in having a mishap carefree day.

Drawing up a wedding-to-do-list should be your top priority. Put a date in your diary to meet up with them who you have allotted a particular wedding duty to carry out. Keep these meetings regular so you know where you`re up to with the wedding tasks. What`s been accomplished can be ticked off your wedding-to-do-list. The more ticks there is the fewer headaches. Duties for wedding helpers might include ordering the flowers, baking the wedding cake, sending out invitations down to booking the minister for the wedding ceremony. Let the happiest day of your life stay that way by planning ahead.

The content bride will always look the prettiest on the day more than that of a miserable looking bride.

By highlighting some vital wedding issues will help you get yourself in order to achieve the perfect wedding. If you experience difficulty in planning your wedding, then in all due respect it maybe down to you that is making it difficult. You need to relax and take time out to think and not rush.

There are a lot of steps you will need to take when planning a wedding but taking one step at a time is the answer. Taking too much on at once can cause problems and cause you unnecessary stress. When planning a wedding, you need to make detail planning of the program. Let us begin with the wedding reception, some couples dedicate more of their time to this part of their wedding than any other part of the wedding events. You need to make sure that the venue hall is an ideal size for accommodating all your guests. Estimating the number of guests coming at this stage is not good, it is best to have exact numbers if it is a sit down meal because you could end up spending over the odds. Planning the reception should have you include and allow for the catering, decorations and entertainment.

Involve yourself with the catering and by doing this you get to check the menu with your caterer and change things as you go along. Wedding entertainment like hiring a disco DJ or live band is fabulous for getting people in the mood for dancing.
If you have to much on your plate and have no time to involve yourself with the catering then you will need to get a final head count for any meals to be served concerning your wedding to your caterer. This count should include the wedding photographer and coordinator as well as your wedding entertainment members, such as the DJ, muscians or singers.

When planning a wedding it is favourable to have wedding favors. The more unique the wedding favour the more it excites the guest. Send wedding invitations early so your guest will have time to prepare themselves for your special day. Your guest may have book a day off work, buy a new outfit or arrange for a baby sitter so it is important to send wedding invites at least 12 weeks in advance.

Wedding tips

1 Whether your hair stylist is calling to your home or you are to visit the hair salon, remember to wear loose clothing especially round the neck. After your hair has be styled in the fashion you want you don`t want to spoil it when removing any garments. A blouse is more ideal with a button down front.

2 If the bridal gown is designed for going over the head then place a pillow case or petticoat over first to prevent any lipstick/mascara smudges getting on the dress. It will also allow the dress to glide over the head without tossing your hair.

3 Don`t forget to remove the price tags from the soles off the shoes. This is easily overlooked and can go unnoticed; however not by the people in the church.

4 We all know children are easily bored and "will" get up to mischief at the drop of hat so if possible for the bridal dressing have a separate room for the kiddies to play and an adult to keep them in check. If the flower girls/bridesmaids are of toddler age – dress them last.

5 Keep beverages (coffee tea blackcurrant juice) at a distance if the wedding dress is fitted. Assist young children when thirsty by guiding the drinking cup to their mouth. Spillage is a spoiler.

6 Call the best man on the morning of your wedding day to make sure the groom did arrived home safe from the night before (stag do,) and at the same time ask him if he has the wedding bands. Men have been known to walk up the aisle without socks so keep this in mind.

7 The man`s buttonhole is traditionally worn on the left lapel, of course personal preference prevails. Have someone help the men pin their buttonholes because it is nothing new to see a beautiful displayed corsage – displayed upside down.

8 Don`t write your speech down on a scrap of paper because it`s easy to think it rubbish and gets thrown out. Nerves can have you say things that people may not want to hear so be careful with choice of words. Read your speech back as many times as it takes for you to be satisfied.

Wedding reminders for the to-do-list

Wedding ceremony location
Wedding programs, pew bows, chapel flowers, unity and taper candles
Marriage license and the officiate fees.
Useful pieces to have at your side – scotch tape for the gift table, a guest book and pen.
Have a basket for placing money envelopes in.
Don`t forget the silver knife for cutting the wedding cake
Glasses for the wedding toast.

Have a medical/emergency kit close by which should contain, make up and hair spray along with personal feminine items if needed. Other bits are Q-tips, facial tissues, aspirin or Tylenol. The list is endless so you could find yourself packing a case instead of a box. You need to know when to stop, mind you what about a nail file and clear nail polish, a stapler and safety pins, "see what I mean," oh and spare panty hose.
Why not make your special day special for everyone else too. You can do this by giving your guests a unique wedding favor.
Wedding favors are given as a way to say "Thank You" to the wedding guests, – and if the perfect favor is given then you will have very thankful guests.

Wedding favors Ideas

Cookies and Chocolates
Crystal
Guest books
Glass coasters
Photo Album
Silver Items
Bath sets
Unity candles

Check on your wedding plans regular to avoid last minute hiccups.

Should a problem rise on your wedding day then meet it head on with plan B.? You do have one don`t you. It is in your best interest to have back up. For instance if the photographer gets stuck in a traffic jam, then have a camcorder in the car. If the caterer has faulted and burnt the wedding breakfast, then have a pizza house number on your personal, or if the groom doesn`t turn up then settle for the better man i.e. "best" man. All joking aside it is important to have your standby props.

wholeseale wedding decorations, wedding reception decoration ideas

Wedding is an occasion to celebrate and enjoy. You could personalize your wedding by making your own wedding decorations. You could make your own wedding floral arrangements and bouquets too. Your creativity and imagination in creating wonderful wedding decorations would enhance a personalized wedding. Instead of purchasing the streamers and other wedding decorations from a departmental store, it would be a good idea to make your own wedding decorations.

How to Make Your Own Wedding Decorations? – A Few Suggestions

Many of the decorations you would have come across in the marriages are made by the professionals. However, you could make your wedding a memorable experience by making your own wedding decorations.

  • Look Out for Good Ideas

You get ideas by flipping through magazines and books on wedding decorations. Remember to bookmark the ideas that catch your interest. For instance, if you are looking for floral arrangements, visit a few floral decoration shops. This would give an idea regarding the various kinds of floral arrangements.

  • Organize Your Ideas

Organize the various ideas you come across in a file or a note book. You could name the organizer as " Wedding decorations". This would be helpful in making your final decisions regarding the wedding decorations.

  • Decide the Theme

Since you are making your own wedding decorations, it would be an awesome idea to have a wedding theme. Color scheme plays an important role in a wedding theme. You could choose your favorite color and plan on making various wedding decorations keeping in mind the color scheme.

  • Budgeting

Budget is the most important factor while deciding on the wedding decorations. The cost of making your wedding decorations should be taken into account. The reason is wedding decorations are just one part of your wedding celebration. You would have to take into account the cost of your wedding dress, music, bouquets, food and also the miscellaneous expenses that could crop up.

Make your Own Wedding Decoration Themes

Here are a few wedding decoration themes.

One of the most popular wedding decoration ideas is using balloons. You could decorate your reception room, church and also your bedroom using balloons. You could ask a few of your friends to help you in making a large balloon arch.

Another wedding decoration you could make on your own is using flowers. Here you could use either artificial flowers or the real flowers. Everything depends on your floral decoration budget. If you are determined to use real flowers, it would be wise to use various seasonal flowers. You could purchase in bulk from the local florists or get it directly from the grower. Another option is using silk flowers for making floral arrangements and bouquets. Silk flowers are less expensive compared to real flowers. You could have a wonderful centerpiece floral arrangement using silk flowers.

Table decoration is as important as a floral centerpiece. Decide on the color of your tablecloth. Use a neutral color tablecloth that is simple. An intricately patterned lace cloth over a plan tablecloth would look good. Use simple china tableware. It would blend with any color scheme of your choice.

Making your own wedding decorations would add a personal touch to your wedding. Once you have decided on the various wedding decorations, get the help of couple of friends. Before you start on the various wedding decorations project, get a sample of these decorations that was professional made. Determine the tools required for the wedding decoration project and assemble the same in a card box. This would make the work of making your own wedding decorations easy.

Great Ways to Save Money on Your Wedding

Monday, May 25th, 2009

After booking your wedding venue, it’s all about the details. Wedding flowers and decor set the vibe, but don’t assume it has to break your wedding budget. Here are five simple ways to get the most bang for your decorating buck.

Wedding reception decoration ideas

After selecting the perfect reception site, it’s all about the details. Consider the venue a blank canvas upon which to create your stylistic masterpiece. Event decor can make or break the ambiance, but don’t assume it has to break your wedding budget. Remember-less is always more. With my sound advice, you can find simple ways to get the most bang for your decorating buck.

Choose Wisely

Make your wedding venue work for you – not against you. Find a ceremony and reception site that complements your desired style – so that you don’t have to decorate around it with pricey floral arrangements. For instance, if you envision a relaxed natural setting, go with a park or botanical garden. Or for a formal stately affair, consider a museum or historical building, with dominant architecture as your wedding backdrop.

Something Borrowed

Add a personalized touch and honor your heritage by using family photos as wedding decor pieces. Gather some stylish frames and ask for photos from both sides from the family (black and white works perfectly here). These inexpensive touches can embellish your guest book table or decorate otherwise decor-impaired spaces in the facility.

Think Double Duty

Wedding flowers are pricey, so make your floral arrangements earn their keep. Invite your ceremony flowers to the reception! You can use them to decorate your cake or gift table – and your guests will never be the wiser.

Go For Impactwedding ceremony decorations, yourself wedding decorations

Unfortunately, some elements of your special day simply go unnoticed by guests. So if your budget won’t allow you to drape your entire reception area in stylish dcor pieces, relax. You can still create a noticeable impact by saving your decorating dollars for the areas that will pack the biggest punch – such as the entranceway.

See The Light

The right lighting can transform an ordinary room into something extraordinary. If hiring a lighting technician is out of your budget, consider creating this effect with candles. Fill glass bowls with floating candles and flowers, or place a single pillar candle in a hurricane lantern for a dramatic effect. The result is romantic and elegant…and inexpensive.

Wedding Church Pew Decorations, wedding decoration ideas

Church wedding decoration is the most fascinating part of a traditional wedding ceremony. A graceful and conventional church wedding adds a traditional ardor to the essence of wedding ceremony. Decoration ideas are crafted very carefully in order to maintain an aura of formality, elegance and balance.

Church Wedding Decoration Designs

The church wedding designs include aisle decorations, pew decorations, altar decorations, centerpiece decorations, church door decorations, church entry decorations and church ceiling decorations. You can represent your wedding theme through these decorations. You can use some decorative accessories like the names of groom and bride made from adhesive-backed vinyl. It can be fixed to walls, windows and other visible surfaces of the church.

Church wedding decorations should be unique, so that your guests would remember it for lifetime. Traditional decoration for church wedding includes a use of pearls, lace, beads, fresh and dry flowers, crystals and candles. While decorating the church, you should keep in mind that the church is a place of worship and you should not disturb its atmosphere of purity and sanctity. While planning the church decorations, you should consider the space required for number of guests, who are going to attend the ceremony.

Church Wedding Decoration Ideas

There are some fantastic church wedding decoration ideas that you can apply for your special day. Flowers are the most preferred choice for church decoration. Decorating the church with beautiful flowers can add a sense of solemnity, peace and freshness to the atmosphere. You can use fresh garden flowers such as tulips, daisies and carnations. Subtly crafted flower vases and bowls in pastel colors can offer an exceptional look to the interiors of the church. Decoration of the aisle using lilies or orchids gives exotic touch to the atmosphere. In addition to that, you can add greenery to the decor by using potted small plants inside the church.

Church pew decoration is also a significant part of the church wedding decorations. You can decorate the pew using flowers, tulle and ribbons. Beautiful Wedding Decorations on a Budget

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

Believe it or not, you can plan a wedding without throwing yourself and your families into debt for the next decade. I am going to give you a few suggestions and guidelines to make this possible without having to cut corners. All it takes is a little discipline and the willingness to stick to a budget.

discount wedding decorations, weddings reception decorations The first thing that you can do is make a list of things that are "required" in planning a wedding. This includes your dress, his tux, guests, a cake, flowers, decorations for the reception, food, music, drinks, photographers, and whatever else you feel are the bare essentials. Then sit down with your fianc and decide on the five most important things on this list. This is where you can splurge a bit. Five may sound like a very small number, but there are an awfully lot of decisions that need to be made while wedding planning, even if you’re keeping it simple. If you can identify the five most important things before you start, it will keep you from letting all the "minor details" get out of control. Trust me, things can easily snowball if you don’t have a solid plan before you set yourself free into the world of wedding planning.

Your fist assumption may be that a wedding planner is out of the question. In many cases this is true. But don’t rule them out until you have talked with a few of them. He or she may be able to give some great suggestions on how you can stick to your budget. Once you start your planning, you will quickly see that it’s a little overwhelming. There are literally hundreds of photographers, pastry chefs, and florists in every city. It may help you to work with someone that knows the ropes and can help you find the companies with the highest quality work at the most reasonable prices.

Another thing that can help you pinch pennies is to plan your wedding during the off-season. The most popular months for weddings are May through October. Most venues will lower their prices during the months that are slower so that they can fill their calendars. Ask for the price list for the entire year and also find out the dates that they have open so that you know what you have to work with. It’s never good news to set your heart on a date, only to find out that it’s booked.

Destination weddings are a great way to save on your big day. It may not sound like a possibility, but when researching my wedding, I was absolutely amazed with what I found. There are tons of places that offer package deals on weddings. You can get discounted rooms in spectacular resorts if you plan to hold your wedding on their property. They have really incredible settings. You can get married on the beach, in a pretty gazebo, next to a waterfall, or even on an inactive volcano in a beautiful national park! The sky is the limit if you’re open to traveling. And most of these places are all-inclusive, so you also get meals, drinks and entertainment. You may even decide to stay right where you are for your honeymoon.yourself wedding decorations, wedding reception table decorations

Keep your eye out for "Off The Rack" sales, you can get dresses that are normally very expensive at highly discounted prices because a few brides have merely tried them on for size. You may need to get it dry cleaned just to be sure, but even if you need to have it altered, you’d have to even if you ordered it in your size. Another option is to wear your mother’s or your grandmother’s dress. You could have a few alterations made for the perfect fit or to update it a little. You could also choose to go with a dress that would normally be considered a bridesmaids’ dress. There are a lot of websites on the Internet that have dresses in myriads of colors. But you can change the colors right on the photo. It is so much fun to see what they look like in white or ivory; all you do is point to the color and click. Although, I would not recommend ordering anything before you try it on, you may not be able to return it. Call around to bridal shops in your area and see if they carry the style, then go and try it on. Sometimes they look very, very different in the photographs. In the long run, this could cut hundreds or even thousands out of your budget. Don’t forget, you’re only going to wear your dress once. You can get all of your finishing touches on sale too, like Swarovski bridal jewelry or Swarovski hair pieces.

This next tip may be the biggest, and possibly the hardest of them all. Cut down on the guest list. You could do this in a few ways, I once attended a wedding where they had quite a few people at the ceremony and only a few at dinner, but later opened it up to everyone again, for drinks and dancing. You could also have a very small, formal ceremony and reception dinner for very close family and friends and follow it with a very relaxed and informal pig roast and picnic the following day. Whatever suits you will be fine, but I have to admit through experience that this is the part that took the most discipline.

There are a few ways to save at the reception, you may consider finding a place to hold your reccheap wedding decoration, make your own decorations for weddingeption that will allow you to bring your own liquor and then all you need to do is hire a few people to tend the bar. You may not wish to serve a three or four course meal. Buffets are very acceptable ways to keep your guests happy and still save a significant amount of money. Another nice thing to do is have a dessert only reception, or you could cater the whole thing yourself and have your families prepare their favorite dishes.

And last but certainly not least, DIY, DIY, DIY. There are a lot of very simple things that you can do yourself that can easily be as beautiful as purchasing everything for your wedding. You would be surprised at how little time it will take you and the unbelievable difference in the balance of your checkbook. Make the decorations on the table out of hurricanes with glass gems in the bottom of water with a floating candle on top. You could even add a goldfish or two if you like! You could ask your family members to lend you their favorite crystal and set them around on the tables with scattered rose petals and votive candles among them to make very inexpensive, yet elegant centerpieces. You can also make your own invitations. There are a lot of companies that sell software that will provide you with pretty graphics, fonts, and techniques to make them flawless. The Internet is a great resource that will help you come up with endless ideas and the tips to make them a reality.

The best tip that I have for everyone that is planning a wedding: It is a wedding, which means that if you go home on that day and you are married to the person that you love, then your mission has been accomplished. All of these other things are merely details. The wedding is only the first day; it’s having a good marriage that is really important. Don’t let yourself get too overwhelmed with all of this, just have fun and enjoy your day.

Wedding Arch Ideas

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Wedding arches are known to add an element of interest to any wedding. With planning, wedding arches can be designed to be the focal point as well. Read on for some ideas on decorating wedding arches.

Wedding arches are also as important as any other feature when planning for a weddinwedding arch decorations, outdoor wedding decorationsg. Most wedding arches are fancy in its appearance but you can give a personal touch to such wedding arches as well. Decorating wedding arches may require some concentration and time from your side, but the end results are bound to make it worth the effort. Wedding arch decoration can be fancy and really decorative or elaborate, as per your personal preferences and tastes. Personalizing and planning for decorative arches for the wedding can be a fun affair and can give you the satisfaction of having a very unique piece and not something that is commonly available for most weddings. After all, with all the incessant planning for the wedding, wedding arches also need some creative thought as well. Decorating wedding arches gives you the freedom to plan as per the kind of wedding you are planning to have. This is dependant upon certain factors.

Factors involved for Decorating Wedding Arches:
Decorating wedding arches would require you to consider the colors used for the interior designing and dcor of the wedding. You would also need to know about the theme of the wedding. Wedding arches are available in many different types and these can be decorated with ease to match the other features of the wedding. These are also available in various materials such as wood, iron etc., which are in also in varied hues and heights as well. Antique looking arches look great for an English garden. Abstract designs look best for modern weddings.

What about the location of your wedding? Is this planned in the outdoors? Where the wedding will take place will also be the deciding factor for wedding arches. Think about the season as well. Decorating wedding arches would also require you to keep in mind what is the season because your decoration can also go hand-in-hand to suit the mood of the particular season. The colors of the season can be successfully implemented in the wedding arches. This would help to add to the mood of the event as well.
wedding ceremony decorations, wedding reception decorations
Plan the exact location of the wedding arch. This would help you to judge the kind of decoration you would need for the wedding arches as well. This can be placed at the front of the aisle or even at the back. Wedding arches also provide to be a good backdrop for group pictures and add to the beauty of the photograph.

Ideas for Decorating Wedding Arches:
Wedding balloon arches are quite popular owing to the happy and fun environment they create. Such kind of wedding balloon arches need to be done up on the day of the wedding. You can look for professional help in the city or even have helium filled balloons with the help of enthusiastic family members or friends.

Floral wedding arches are another such option. The season would also help in deciding the kind of flowers you would need to use. If it is springtime and your wedding is in the outdoors, you can add bright colors and choose a white lattice arch, which can help you weave your flowers easily. Picture the grand floral wedding arch, in soothing shades of pinks and white, with a dab of red in between and green intertwined through these flowers. Floral arches would require the help of a professional but these are one of the best ways to have a romantic and quaint touch to the entire atmosphere. Charming, pretty and ultra stylish as well, floral wedding arches sure do make a statement.

Have you always been a beach bum? Need to try something different for your wedding? The beach theme is very popular and nothing can be better than having wedding arches that go along with this theme. People who cannot actually celebrate on the beach itself, often compromise by decking up the place to resemble one. Sand, bottles, shells…all add to the atmosphere and the setting. Add some of these to the wedding arches and see this become the most attractive feature of the wedding. Add some ribbons and organza that will give a romantic touch. If the wedding is at the beach, you need to consider the sudden gusts of the wind that can uproot your wedding arch! Look for a sturdy arch in such cases and accessorize it with elements that can be secured tightly.

In case of a garden wedding, flowers would again be the most preferred option. Loads of fresh flowers, ivy, organza and ribbons with other such climbing plants all help to add to the green look! You can even try and add some texture to the wedding arches. This can be done easily by attaching some branches or vines to the arch. These are available in the craft stores as well.

Wedding arches help to add beauty to the location. Decorating wedding arches would need you to seek help from professionals as well as family members, at times. Begin your planning in advance, as this would also help you to get things streamlined by the time your wedding date arrives. Use your creativity in the best way possible.

Outdoor Wedding Decoration Ideas

Planning to have an outdoor wedding? Here are some decoration ideas for outdoor weddings…

Outdoor Wedding Decorations, Gazebo Wedding Decorations

Remember Phoebe’s wedding in the famous sitcom Friends? I’m sure every sitcom lover would have watched that episode with dreamy eyes, as phoebe and mike walk down the aisle amidst heaps of snow…An unexpected snowfall might not have deterred phoebe’s will to marry mike even though turning blue in her wedding dress due to the freezing cold in her wedding dress, but again, not everyone can be as spontaneous and adorably weird as phoebe. In case you are planning an outdoor wedding, you need to remember that you’ll need to put in extra efforts to ensure the decorations are in place throughout the ceremony.

Decoration Ideas for Outdoor Weddings

There are several things that you need to keep in mind while planning an outdoors wedding and thinking of decoration ideas. Decorations include all the elements of the wedding plan, starting from the wedding venue to the wedding flowers. Given below are some of the factors that need to be taken care of while planning an outdoor wedding.

Weather

In case you are planning an outdoor wedding you have to be extremely cautious about the weather at the wedding venue. You never know when it could rain or snow – Weather can play a spoilsport and ruin all your wedding decorations. An outdoor wedding needs to be planned in an appropriate season when the weather is pleasant. If that is not possible and you are still keen on having an outdoor wedding, you need to take all the precautions to protect the wedding venue from rough weather.

Wedding Venue

The decorations for outdoor weddings also depend on the number of guests and hence the size of the wedding venue. In case you are planning to have the wedding in a park, you need to make sure the venue is not too small or even too big for your guest list. While hunting options for an outdoor wedding venue, the sky is the limit. The wedding venue can be a park, a hill, or even the beach.

Seating Arrangement
outdoor wedding decorations, wedding ceremony decorations
Well, looking for comfortable yet elegant seating arrangements is dicey business in case of an outdoor wedding. You don’t want tablecloths flying off or candles flickering due to wind. You don’t want flower decorations to be ruined and nor do you want your guests to be drenched in rain or frozen in the snow. (Quick Pointer – getting married outdoors when you know it’s going to snow is a really bad idea, unless again if you can pull off a phoebe act.)

Lighting

In case you are having an outdoor wedding, then the lighting is also and important issue. You obviously don’t want to get married in blaring sun, nor do you want to walk the aisle in darkness where you can hardly see each other’s faces. In case there is excessive lighting outdoor you need to balance it out by having temporary shelters, which are not only protective but also decorative. Block out excess light with tents and curtains at the venue. In case you are having a beach wedding then there is nothing that can beat the beach umbrellas.

Accessories and Add-ons

First rule of outdoor wedding decorations – keep things simple. Too many flowers, too much of flowy fabrics might ruin the effect. Pick up elegant and simple furniture that would blend in with the surroundings, for example wooden tables and garden chairs would be perfect for a garden wedding. Use flowers that will last longer. Use decorative items that will not dry out (delicate flowers) or blown away by the wind. Use furniture that is comfortable for the guests, but also easy to transport.

Decoration ideas for outdoor weddings should be such that they can be easily executed without any major hassles. The moonlight, the bright stars, the soothing breeze or the verdant green surroundings, the beauty of nature is splendid without any additional decorations. Always remember to keep things simple and allow the outdoor beauty to take over the wedding decorations rather than the other way round…

Tips for Planning a Small Wedding

Interested in planning a small wedding? But you want it to be classy and elegant, right? No problem! We can help!

A small wedding can be far more intimate than a large wedding, and planning a small wedding is well within the reach of most people. At a small wedding, you will have more time to spend with your friends and family, and it will most likely be far less stressful. You will be able to concentrate on the details and make sure everyone has an enjoyable time.

church wedding decorations, wholesale wedding decorations When planning a small wedding for a few close friends and family members, you will be able to be more flexible with some of the details than you would otherwise. For example, where food is concerned you’ll have a lot more leeway. Depending on what your budget will allow, you can have hors d’oeuvres, a full buffet, or go all out with a catered event. If your wedding party is small enough, you can even reserve a room at a nice restaurant.

Planning a small wedding should not break the budget, and you can spend the money where it really matters. While no one will remember what they ate or drank, the photos and videos from the event will last forever. Your wedding should be a one-time affair, and you’ll want to capture photos of you in your wedding gown, and you’ll want them to be of the highest quality. You definitely don’t want to skimp on the photos and videos.

You will be able to involve your guests for when planning a small wedding. At one wedding, the couple had each guest sign their name and write their sentiments on the tablecloth. Through the next several years, the wife took those sentiments and embroidered them onto the tablecloth. Today, that is a cherished heirloom that will get passed down through the generations.

Smaller, more intimate weddings generally seem more personal than the large social gatherings some couples choose. When you are planning a small wedding, you have a lot more options on where to hold the event. You can have it in your home or another home, you could have a garden wedding, or you could rent a gazebo and have the wedding guests gather around it has you exchange vows.

Whether you decide to plan a small wedding or a large wedding, the size of the wedding is not necessarily tied to the size of the budget. Many couples have large weddings on a small budget, and you can definitely have a small wedding on a large budget. If you are planning a small wedding though, you should be better able to get the groom involved with the planning. Large weddings can be intimidating to the groom, as they see a lot of people involved. Planning a small wedding gives you both an opportunity to exchange ideas before you exchange your vows.

Set up elegant wedding centerpieces and potted plants around the gazebo. The potted plants can even be kept alongside the walkway that goes up to the gazebo. Tulles and ribbons can be used all around the base of the gazebo. Ribbons can be hung from the topside with beautiful vines that can encircle the pillars of the gazebo.

If your wedding reception is scheduled for the evening, then you can make the gazebo look really attractive with the use of lights. Dim lighting can turn any setting into a romantic one if done the appropriate way. Look for beautiful and interestingly shaped lanterns but ensure they can withstand strong gusts of wind! You can opt for a string of lights instead, which can be placed around the topside of the gazebo. Add some balloons to the corners of the gazebo.

If you are planning to take the wedding vows inside the gazebo, you must make it look romantic to set the right mood. Use crepe paper to brighten up the sides of the gazebo and scatter rose petals in different colors on the floor.

For the serving area, you can put up a large tent in the outdoors. Decorate the inside area on similar lines to the reception area. Use ribbons and flowers for the chairs. Place soft cushions in pastel shades on the chairs. Use white satin sheets for the tables and add baskets of flowers.

For outdoor settings, one of the most important points would always be to keep your guests comfortable. For this, you need to ensure you use nettings and other preventive measures to keep bugs away!

Use your creativity to the fullest to decorate the gazebo so that it stands out for this very important occasion. If you plan with the wedding budget in mind, it will only help you to take your decisions on a faster note. You can keep it simple yet stylish as per your individual preferences.
